I always get lots of invitations to join new programs and try new products. I sometimes even go wild and sign up for a few!

Then in about 3 to 6 months I find I have just worked my butt off promoting someone elses products and program while my highly targeted traffic to my blogs and sites has fallen off because I neglected my own business!

I learned my lesson about program hopping and hope I can enlighten you before you get lost in the maze and give up!

Online business is just like any business. You need a good reputation to quickly gain the trust of new customers and provide good services to back it up or they will leave! The internet is a fast paced world and one wrong move can ruin your business quickly!

If you have been program jumping for a while. I bet you find some of your friends shy away a little more with every jump. You must think over every move you make and look at it from many perspectives before making any decisions. Be sure you look at what you are doing as if you were one of your customers. It may look very different!

Web Presence.

Online marketing takes a web presence. Your web presence will tell the story of how you and your company will help each and every one of your potential online customers. This has to be spread over many sites on the internet, building many streams of targeted visitors pointing back to your main online information. Your web presence will always be a work in progress, building with every post and article submitted. Now if you are program hopping…. your web presence changes every time you hop! All the previous work may not work anymore! Unless the programs are almost the same and you use the same keywords, you have to start over again!

I would rather not!
A little forethought will go a long way in saving you time and money. Draw up a business plan and stick to it! This will keep your web presence building…. and building…

I have known this for quite a while and have been teaching it in my online classes. It only makes sense. I always am looking for more information when I search online….

Well, it seems the search engines are heading that direction even further. I read today that duplicate content on your domain will kill your ranking. No real problem…. I always tell my students to use their own content on their blogs and to use duplicate content on other domains linking back. This still will work (so far). The problem arises in the blog template. I have heard from several sources that the template (header, footer, and sidebar) will count as duplicate content! I hear that if your post is enough larger than your template content, the post will over ride the duplicate content. I am not sure about that yet, but I am testing….. The problem I see here is all of the cool widgets, rss feeds, and even ads in the sidebar…. will have to go! This also means Google Adsense ads! (I wonder if Google thought of that? Maybe they figure if the pages are different enough, the ads will be different?)

Anyway folks. It looks like all that cool stuff you have on your sidebar so people can find it no matter what page of your blog they land on… will have to go, or you may suffer with a Google page-rank 1 forever….. Or will you?

Internet marketers inner circle (IMIC)

Was conceved by Scott Reynolds and Jeannie George. Both have had enough of the backwards marketing hype and lies. On the SEO side: This will link together Networks that normal linking would not work well with.

On the Social Side: This will build the group leaders Ning Friends list and build the Ning networks involved.

IMIC will be a strictly monitored network and all spamming of any kind will be deleted and repeat offenders will be banned. IMIC is for real networking and learning, not promoting your products. I am amazed at the people who read my posts and articles then send me an ad…… No problem, they just get added to the spam filter and I never see their emails again… You see? This is what IMIC is about! It is all over the internet….. Instructions on how to spam (Unsoliced promotional messages).  Real potential customers will never get these messages!
