I left similar advise on a members page at MegaTraffic.tk and then decided it was really simple advise everyone could use, so I added a little more to it for all of you.
By posting a small post about something on your blog or site every week, here, on your blog, and in any other social networks you are in, you will build your web traffic 2 ways.
1. people will see something from you on a regular basis and go see what it is you are so excited about.
2. Your content and keywords that are in your posts will be indexed by the search engines from each site and show links in, from each of them.
If your blog is on Blogger or another large blogging site it will need lots of incoming links and regular posts to boost your blog through all of the competition and get you seen on the search engines.
Free and affiliate websites work the same way. If the company you are an affiliate of has 10,000 affiliates, you have to win the top spot by beating every one of them in the search engines, not easy with a page you can not edit!
Thats right! Those "free websites" they give you are just about worthless on their own. You need your own blog and social profiles with blog and forum posts to draw your customers and the search engines. Your "free" page will only be the link you send interested customers from your posts to buy the product you mentioned in that post.

Do not talk about your products all the time!
Sure, they will come up just as in normal conversation because you are excited about them. But talking just about what you are selling will get you very few customers! This is why I added the most searched terms to Mega Traffic. so you can see what the world is searching for.
Watch that list!
You very seldom see a product listed.
If you do, do not run to try and corner that search phrase! Google it first…… see how many times it was found on Google? That is your competition! Think you can beat all of them out to rank on the first page of a Google search? It would take years for a single person! The top search will probably change tomorrow… You missed that one!
This brings me to teamwork.

Most people look so hard to find new customers they never see them. The backwards marketing and lies to protect a few peoples secrets has taught us it is really hard to get new online customers or we have to pay people lots of money for them. Most people contact many people online every day, email something funny or interesting to their friends, IM with people far away, leave comments on blogs and forums….. But you don't market to them do you?
You would like to keep them as friends wouldn't you?
So why do you work so hard to find new people to market to when you know if you sent the same stuff to your friends, they wouldn't like it?
What makes you think your "new" non friends will ?
The Backwards marketing that has been taught in the past (and sill is) programed us into thinking this will work to make them more money. If you like making them rich… stop reading! You have lots of work to do!
Happy People tend to buy more.
Everyone should know this. You don't need a degree to understand that a happy person is more likely to make purchase than a pissed off one…. Yet online companies still widely promote spamming and backward marketing pissing off their customers and affiliates! They all say it is a numbers game…. It is when you do it that way! They plan on losing 90% of their affiliates within 3 months! Most make it next to impossible to unsubscribe or stop paying their monthly membership fee or even worse … autoship just because they know people will not go out of their way to try and stop it. You know….. well, I am paying, I need to give it more time….. I WILL WORK HARDER…. They get their money….. I bet you didn't make any!
So your lists of friends here and there are your happy people if you are playing your cards right and not pushing every ad you can find at them…. So how can you "market" to them and still keep them happy?
Just keep doing what you are now! If they like what you send them, they will always look, read, listen….. They will notice when you are making money or otherwise succeeding in what you do and may even ask you what you are doing! Truly Amazing concept!!! Don't believe me? Ask your local business person.
Law of attraction works on this principle, "act" like you are succeeding so people will be drawn to your success. It works to an extent, but if you lie to people…. you really never have their trust. The worst part is, you have to lie to yourself first!
A side note here….. If you have groups of happy friends…. outside people will notice and ask to join your little group! Mind Blowing Huh!!!
It is hard
It is hard in todays fast paced world to not get caught up in the backwards marketing and just plain bad ideas! The hype will grab you no matter how ready you think you are! I sure have more often than I would like to mention! But I learned from each and every experience. So its not all bad!
Try to think like you are on the receiving end before you start marketing anywhere. I set up email filters, block friends, and lose respect for people that send me spam (spam is anything you did not specifically ask for). You lose me after 1 or 2 tries. Most emails never get through spam filters. A lot of work that does nothing but give you a bad online rep! If it is fun, informative, interesting and not just after their money or email address, you are probably ok.
Change your thinking
I know its not easy to bust out of the backwards marketing way of thinking. For a while I could not write anything that didn't sound like a Google ad! No matter how hard I tried! It was sick!
Step out of "Mr (Mrs) Marketer" and look at things as you for a while. Filter out all those "Guru's" emails. Stop spamming the spammers at those safelists and other advertising that has produced NADA……… If it hasn't worked? It probably is not going to!
Start treating the few friends, readers, customers you do have left with the respect they deserve and make sure you give a little of yourself if you expect anything in return. This is real life folks! You want yours to change? Start with the only part you can change……….. Yourself! I guarantee you will like the results, yes, unlike online programs promising results… You can change your life for the better! Just do not expect someone else to do the work for you!

Recently added table of contents plugin.
The Table of Contents (TOC) plugin is a super easy SEO method!
TBN has tried sitemap generators and other plugins that didn't work well with our platform and no members could figure out how to use them. TOC is as simple as scrolling down to & expanding the settings menu, then clicking the Table of Contents Creator link. Advanced users may opt for any of the page creation edits but us normal bloggers can simply scroll down and hit the create page button and you are done!
Once created you have an auto updating table of contents page you can submit to search engines as your sitemap! Your table of contents page will ensure every new post and page you add to your TBN blog will be indexed in every search engine you submit it to.
Advanced users will use their Google webmaster tools to submit it as a sitemap to Google. Bloggers not into all that SEO stuff can submit your TOC page to any search engine using a simple "submit url" search and choosing the search engines you want to submit to. BE sure you only submit to free submission sites…. This will take a little longer and you usually have to verify your submission by clicking a link they send you in an email but in most cases it works just as well as the high priced submission services.
This is by far the easiest SEO add on I have found for our blog network. I am still working to make it even easier for your content to be seen. Check your plugins page often for features that may help you with your blog. Contact live help by clicking the live help button on your blogs admin page if you have questions about any plugins.
The traffic is right in front of you buzzing by….. all you need is to put up your "Get (your niche) Here" sign to have them turn off at your exit! Submitting your new TOC page can do that for you!

Online Customers, Business….. How?
I enjoy watching peoples actions and trends. As a marketer you have to. If you guess the next big trend correctly and have placed yourself in its path, mistakes will not even matter! I have worked through and watched friends and people in general wildly chase the next Internet trend….. Jump from one business opportunity to the next………… Go through the next tools that will bring in millions of customers…one after another……. and the list goes on. I personally have done all of the above….
You know what I found? Starting with any of the above is just plain backwards!
- You will 4 times as hard to get fewer visitors to your pages
- You will always spend more than you will ever make
- There is no automated pipeline that you can turn on to funnel online customers to your pages
- Customers will not flock to your page just because you have one and you think the product is "HOT"
- The next product will not draw you more online customers because you think it is even "HOTTER" than the last one you tried
- That new marketing tool is not going to pump out new buying customers because the sales page said it would
There is only one thing that will bring you online customers. Your Web Presence!
If you can not be seen on the web…… no one will find you! Wait a sec before you go out posting ads everywhere you can find a place to stick one. Ads have their place but your web presence is what will convince your new customers they should buy from you. A bunch of auto generated crap and copy and pasted stolen articles tells me I should be buying somewhere else! What do you do when you see pages you know are copy and pasted from another website, or auto generated copy that is basically unreadable?
How would I start a new online business today?
- Start a blog or forum and talk about one thing I like to talk about every day, something I know well enough to be an expert at already, or will be, as I research and post my findings on my subject.
- Spread the word about my blog or forum everywhere I can find that will listen. Be sure to offer your new readers at least one way of staying in touch….. RSS feeds, news letter, membership…. whatever suites your subject.
- Keep Offering interesting copy and conversation while spreading your reach by finding new communities and websites
OK! You just built an excellent web presence! A highly targeted and loyal customer base! And you had a great time doing it! But did you hear me mention one word about a product? NO! You will be able to offer a cool product you know your readers will like now and then (working them into posts or newsletters) because they have been reading your posts and news letters for months….. like what you have to say……. and they will buy from you because they trust your judgment!
If you bombard them ad after ad after product after…. they will leave your newsletter or stop reading your posts……. and disappear …. Ask any Guru marketer! This has already happened to all of the internet big boys! No body listens to their crap anymore! (They use interns now to take advantage of new names!) We have heard it all before and are sick of it! Market like them and be doomed!
My point is….. be yourself, have fun and make real long lasting friends online using a simple blog and any other sites that you like (making sure everything you put on the net is high quality)….. you will be the next Internet Success! You do not have to "find that perfect product"! You is what will make you a success online!
Listen to the online "buzz" and keep doing backwards marketing……… No one will ever listen to or read your information….. you will become friends with a huge bunch of backwards marketers that only send ads back and forth to eternity never making 1 sale ……… The newest online community…. Internet Marketing Hell LOL
I am sure you have heard it all…..
Find your niche, focus on your niche, target your niche………
This is all well and good if you know how to optimize your pages and target your keywords in the search engines. Only completely focus on the product if it is totally yours! The sorry fact is…. to get customers or readers to your "niche", you will have to dominate highly searched terms targeting that niche. Unless you are a professional SEO webmaster and key phrase expert researcher, chances are you will see very little traffic to your "niche site". Yup! All those Guru programs, niche builders, and software won't do a thing for you unless you happen to be lucky just before the lightning strikes you!
Ask any Guru…. They will tell you it is a numbers game! They know 99% of new members/affiliates/downlines are going to fail and exit the program withing 3 months! They need the new signups to keep that initial purchase money coming. Most offer signup bonuses also so the Guru's can earn extra before their downlines figure out they can not keep losing money! It is the numbers! If you are not getting thousands of hits a day with your websites or have hundreds of thousands of emails in your lists. How do you think you are going to make it? People do not automatically go to your replicated website just because your name is on it! Unless your name dominates the top search engine pages!
Joining and promoting any make money online product or program will only benefit the product owners. You may make a few bucks….. You probably spend more!
So How Do I Make Money Online?
Along with the rest of the gobelty goop they feed you most do have some correct information in their marketing information. Your new online business is a business and should be treated like one!
Sure back in the 90's Joe Shmoe could put a page up online and probably make a lot of money. Now almost every key phrase has millions competing for search engine position. You have to be good to beat that competition! Joe Shmoe might as well buy a lotto ticket…..
The best way to get targeted customers online is by using the search engines because when someone searches for "your product", if you are #1 on the search engine for "YOUR PRODUCT" they will click on your link. As you see the best way is not an easy way. Thus product focus should not be your #1 priority unless it is your product.
Building your business online is now the same as building one in your town. To get customers you need to gain their trust by giving them good information, products, and service. Hype and lies may catch their attention for a second, but as soon as they see through it, they are gone and your online reputation is shot.
It still is not really that hard but does take some time, your total commitment to make your business work, and a plan to follow so your business builds in an orderly fashion making it easier and easier to find by new customers.
Your main business focus should be what you know best, how you learned it, and why what you do is better for your customers than all that other stuff online. Your potential customers have to know and trust you! Don't try to become something you aren't because you have a new product page. Think about it! Do you buy online from Joe Shmoe? Do you even buy online? You have to prove to your potential customers you are the most trustworthy person on the web to buy your products from before they click that Google ad (that you will make 3 cents from) to buy from someone else!

The Blog network has been upgraded to WPMU 2.8.6.
WP link directory plugin lost functionality with this upgrade. All other plugins seem to be working fine.
To check your blog plugins or to see what other features you might want to add to your blog, simply scroll down and expand or click on the plugin tab in your blog Admin section. A list of available plugins will show with active ones showing a disable link. To activate more, just click activate. some may need more information and set up by you, just follow the instruction on the next page….
If Your Blog has disappeared!……
Try using a valid or one of your main email addresses…
Do not copy and paste word or other word processing files into your blog unless you use the paste from word or paste as plain text buttons in your post editor. Not using these buttons leaves extra code visible to readers and dead links. It looks like crap and does not link to any of your other sites or affiliates! It will cause Blog deletion!
The upgraded software should help capture some of the splogs before creation. I will catch the rest shortly!

New advertising plugin for all members!
WP 125 will allow 125 x 125 ads or banners in your sidebar! Activate the wp125 on the plugin page and a wp125 tab should show up at the bottom of your admin menu. Click it to edit your setting and add or edit ads.
I know most of you probably think your TBN blog will never get you more traffic because you haven't seen much yet. People…. I have with the help early on of a few friends built our traffic rank to a peak a couple months ago of 224,000 out of every page on the web! That means we were only getting less traffic than 224,000 web pages on the entire world wide web! That figures out to just under half a million hits the early part of Oct! The traffic started dropping back the last 2 weeks of OCT. WE usually average from 200,000 – 300,000 hits a month and do you know why you haven't seen many? Because the main blog has been bringing in most of them! Holly, Jeannie, & Steven lead in the rest.
If you have been getting hits but no sales, you have either targeted your tags incorrectly or your copy does not draw your readers to your action (join or purchase). Also be sure that most links away from your blog are your own leading to another program for them to join or a product they can buy, do not overload your pages with ads and links! Your main purpose is to grab their interest and make them want to come back again!
The search engines are going to keep getting pickier on the content and pages they rank highly. Interesting, original copy on your blog will bring you closer to the top with every search.

The Traffic Blog Network has added an advertising plugin to our list of member comforts.
You will be able to easily add your own product ads, sell advertising on your blog, track the ads, and much more with this simple to use plugin.
Turn it on the same as you do other Wordpress Plugins. Click the Plugins tab in your admin area then scroll down through the list of availble plugins to find WP125 and activate it. (click link under WP125)
Then easily configure from the ADS links in your main back office menu.
Be sure to only use 125 x 125 banners or images or your image may not show.
The banner or image must be uploaded to the web and you will need the URL (web address) to enter in the image box. Most affiliate banners already have an image location. The URL will be in between " " like this <img src="http://yoursite.com/image/mybanner"> in the banner code. The other link in the code similar to this <a href="http://yoursite.com/?=affid165348"> has your affiliate link between the " ". This will be what goes in the other link box.
You can set your link to any website you want the people that click the image to go to. Any 125 x 125 image can be added as long as you know the web address or URL.
Adding an Image of your own from your computer is as easy as adding an image to your post. Do a post about your product and add the image in the post using the image button in the editor. Once the post is saved you can just right click the image and either copy image location, or view image then copy from your browser address bar. You now have the image URL to add to your ad plugin page.
Post comments here with questions or problems or use the live help. I have been doing this for years and it is easy for me now. I do still remember how hard it was for me to figure out what part of what code went where to make things work back when I started….. I will be glad to help members get started.
Remember that every outside link you add to your blog is another opportunity for your hard earned visitor to click away from your blog and maybe never find you again! Make sure your ads and outgoing links are pointing to your stuff, or can make you enough money to overcome loosing a visitor. It may be as easy as hitting the back button to come back and sign up to your blog or RSS feed, but can you afford to take that risk?

No I am not one of those people that will allow total crap and spam on my blog network just because it is content or traffic. I have been lax in the splog removal the last few months and was actually hoping the spam protection would hold most spammers off. They gradually work their way back in and I have to delete their blogs and block their domains. ……
Do they really hurt a site like ours? YES!!!
I have mentioned before about the time I have to devote to spam cleaning and our traffic taking dips as the spamming increases. Well this time I was really excited about our traffic rank climbing towards the top 200,000 on the web and was watching the traffic stats closely. Our traffic did take a dip in early September but then held fairly steady through October. Our Alexa Rank has dropped almost 100,000 in the last 3 weeks with actual traffic picking up. Why? I am not totally sure but blame the crapy content posted by the splogs…. I removed most of it last week and traffic rank immediatly started back up! I had a few minutes tonight to check and delete the rest of the spam blogs or splogs.. I will be watching the traffic stats and our rank closely to be sure if this was actually the cause or not.
I always stress the importance of origanal content! This will also help brand you as your web presence grows!
I hope that I am really seeing search engines picking up on the spammers and cheaters allowing the real articles to be seen????
At any rate…. this blog network will stay as splog free as my time allows with top quallity content from all members pushing everyone of your posts to the top of searches all over the web!
Many people think Wordpress blogs are to complecated in the back office or Admin area.
Compared to most …. they are more complicated. But there is a reason!
Wordpress blogs have made getting seen on the internet easy for a lot of people the last few years. The reason? The many ways to personalize your blog to your needs. A Wordpress blog can be use for just about anything now, including a membership site and never leaves the arena of easily posting lots of great content very easily that already has basic seo built in. The area of seo is ever changing so there are always tweeks to be made by the pros to get the "edge" but a basic WordPress blog will do you well without doing any more than posting interesting content on a regular basis!

I don't think so! If you can log in and click the add new post button you will do ok! Starting out by just posting is easy, going to Appearance to select a theme that fitts your style is as easy as clicking a few buttons! The hard part is deciding which one you like the best! Just go to one area at a time and browse around, see what each section is for. Don't push yourself and get lost! Learn at your own pace and you will be doing things you never would have thought you could in no time!
WordPress has tons of instruction and even videos to help you do anything you want with your blog. All one has to do is ask!
