I’ve often wondered what it takes to become successful.  Like so many Americans, I am among those who was greatly affected by the current economic crisis and I had to find another way to create an income for my family. I quickly realized that becoming self sufficient by starting a home based business was the only way to get ahead of my circumstances, but first I had to learn my way to success.

You will never find success by chance or luck. True success depends on how much you are willing to change, personally develop and sacrifice for it.  To become successful you must have the desire with an inner strength that's determined to achieve your goals no matter what it takes to get you there.  In other words, you must first redefine your mindset.  As I commented in my last post I had to take a good look at myself to see where improvement was needed.

I have been on a personal development quest to learn from the experiences of others who have paved the way to success. So far, I read books by Rick Warren, “The Purpose Driven Life”; Joyce Meyer’s “How to Succeed at Being Yourself”; Eckhart Tolle’s, “The New Earth, “Awakening to Your Life Purpose” and of course the best book ever written the “Holy Bible” (an ongoing process repeated yearly). And last, but not least the book by Jeff Olson, "The Slight Edge, a book that was an eye opener and one I greatly needed to read.

When I began my home based business with Prepaid Legal Services, I desperately wanted to be successful, but didn't do what was necessary on a consistent basis.
