We have only one blog on our network with Google Page Rank!

Is Page Rank worth it? Only in the long run. Page Rank only shows the importance of your page by the number of quality pages linking back to your page TO THE SAME KEYWORDS

This will eventually show you as an authority on the page subject.

Traffic wise? Not much help….. I see Page Rank 0 pages at the top of searches more often than not.

Page Rank is only for one page. A dynamic page showing your posts may get page rank one day then not after a few more posts. This happened to to TrafficBlogNet.com’s   Front page when it was dynamic and showing each new post as it was posted. I was getting  questions why our networks front page did not have page rank. It has briefly but as the keywords changed I lost page rank. I could have kept it by changing keywords on pages linked in that I had control of or kept the same keyword set for all posts.

As I have said before, your keywords/tags are very important and come int play in many different areas. Keeping your tags laser targeted to your posts (describe exactly what is in your post), keeping your posts relevent to one another and linking from sites like Squidoo and Hub Pages to keywords on your page will bring you page rank.

All of my "community friends" do their own thing paying little attention to my hard work!

How do I use the communities I am alread in? Nothing seems to raise interest among my friends.

I will be willing to bet you built your community  friends list the same way I did ……. by inviting everyone that would have you and accepting every invitation you got.

Pretty close?

Well. it turns out that to be successfull at social community marketing you need to use the right keywords.

That’s right! Keywords, Tags, Search Terms or phrases will be the success or failure of your online business, no matter how you try to get around them!!!

The same principal applies as does with the search engines. Your Social Community is basically just another search engine. You enter your sex, age, likes, dislikes, and the community "search engine" sorts through everyone’s details and matches the relevant people to you. Put in bogus info and get searchers looking for someone with those bogus qualities. You will not find real friends that way! ….. Or buying customers!

Free Organic Website traffic Starts Here

Why do you keep pounding us about keywords????

Well…. How do you find anything on the Internet? You type in a few "Key Words" in a search box and hit enter. Right?

Do you usually find what you are searching for? Sometimes……   Why only sometimes? Because your mind works different than the mind of the people adding the content to their sites and placing the Keywords, Tags, Search terms, or what ever else you want to call them. The all do the same thing…… match up to the "key words" you just typed into your favorite search engine!

Single keywords or  tags are general and do get a lot of searches, but are general and do not target your visitors. Search the word "buy".  It generally means you want to buy something, but what? This is where "long tail" search terms come into play. As the term suggests, they are made up of more than one word, like "buy a new computer". That narrows things down more but when you are looking for a computer to buy, aren’t you looking for a certain  brand usually? Maybe even a certain model! (buy a Dell Inspiron 1525 Laptop) So if you do a story on computers and want to link to an affiliate link selling computers, you want to narrow your story down to a certain brand or even model and link to that same models sales page. Spell the model out to the letter and number and you will get visitors looking for just that model. A much larger chance of a sale!…..

The FireStats seems to be working fine so far (1 day). Traffic jumped back up. Its funny how a small script problem will drop traffic stats.  Of course we had a drop when I shut down a couple hundred spam blogs or splogs. It has been climbing slowly since. Slower now because I have put the splogs IP’s in the banned list. Firestats works great for finding the spam IP’s I noticed tonight, it looks like some of the banned IP’s are still trying to signup. Bots aren’t very smart I guess

I will have to get tougher on the spammers as we grow, but right now they are bringing in some pretty targeted traffic. I’m sorry to say they are better at selecting tags than most.    !!! Everyone must remember the tags or search terms are how people find your copy through search engines so they are very important! They also have to be in the copy! I will work on some more posts on tag research and try to set up a live workshop if I get enough interest.

(Check out the Polls in the sidebar to the right and vote YES in the new Tags Training one if you want a live tags training.)
