WP 2.8.1 Image Post Change

To post an image in your posts with the new upgrade you can not use the image button in the FKC editor. Images will only show if the original “Add media” button is used. (the one just above the editor box) This will also give you more options when uploading.

New AntiSpam Added

 

Spam Karma has been de-activated on TBN

A new, more powerful comment anti-spam plugin has been created! WP-Spamfree  claims to be the best in controlling comment spam on WP blogs. TBN Admin researched the plugin and decided to try it. The old Spam Karma is still available but disabled. We found most bloggers did not understand the Spam Karma (although we thought it was a great spam catcher) and it had lost support falling behind in updates, falling prey to hackers.

WP-Spamfree has been activated on all blogs. TBN members can access the WP-Spamfree control panel from the settings dropdown in your Admin dashboard. Correction!

More about WordPress Help!

To correct my statements in my post "Help From WordPress" last week HERE

It seems I am better than I thought! After upgrading the site to 2.8.1 (which I am evidently still having trouble with) all Trafficblognet.com bloggers get to see my latest post summery on their admin dashboard when they log in. My last post was about regular posting (read more here) and from a quick scan, I thought WordPress had posted a great post for all WP users to see when they logged in to their blog admin! ….. I was close… LOL

WPMU had added the funcionality of the main blog posts on any WPMU network to be seen by all members. The great post was mine! (I finally went back to read it) So the post summery you see when you log into the TBN network will be my last post. I try to offer sound blogging, SEO, and marketing advise through my TBN blog. There is also RSS to the home blog available on every members blog now.

The WordPress help is still there on every WP admin dashboard. A simple click will take you to loads of information from and about WP blogs.

I hope my "WordPress Help" will help you!

A WordPress blog is one of the easiest ways to get your opinions, ideas, and information seen on the internet.

WordPress works hard to stay on top of search engine changes to keep your blog in top SEO form right out of the box. There have been some great plugins to boost SEO even further. Most have been tried b this network. All currant plugins will stay active as long as they stay compatable to WordPress updates but this blog will be trimming the extras down to a minimum to clear any confusion created by them for the search engines as a test.

With new updates, WordPress is adding tips in your admin as you log in. These tips could have been found in WordPress documentation, and in their blog posts linked to each wordpress admin page. An easy source of the best information, unused by most! To improve the WordPress experiance and each blogs performance, WordPress Admin will be making basic blogging with WordPress instructions and information a little easier to see.

I recomend every blogger read their tips and go one more level to learn even more by checking out the information linked to every WordPress Blog admin page. You will not get better information on how to improve your blog than from the horses mouth! Instructional videos and tutorials can usually be found there also. (You may have to wait for new ones after an update, but older ones can still get you started on the right track)

As readers may have noticed, this blog changed to a simple theme and also removed some of the bells and whistles a few months ago. This was also a test to see how the extras were affecting our actual visitors.

The surprising truth is……… the simple theme with less sidebar content and widgets (we used to have 2, and even 3 sidebars at one time) has boosted traffic noticably and  our stats have been climbing ever since. Like I have been saying for over a year floks….. The best SEO is going to be your content! Your posts taged with relevant keywords will be on top!

Those thinking their blog posts are getting them nowhere are 100% wrong! Every post can put you higher in the searches! The one click wonders will only leave you wondering! Your posts will keep working for you as long as your blog is live!

Make your posts easy to find by using categories

Using common sense when blogging can be a good thing……  How do you search for anything online? Start by searching with a keyword or search term pertaining to what you are looking for…. Right? Do you always find what you are looking for with the first try? I sure don’t!

No 2 people are going to read an article or post and right down the exact same keywords. So how can you ever get people to find your post? You can just ad every keyword you can think of to your post….. But that will make it harder for your next post! Because everyone is blindly adding keywords in hopes of grabbing a little traffic, everyone has to work harder to be seen!

You can stack the deck in your favor by using only the most relevant keywords and making sure your blogs categories are correct also. As it works now, search engines find the keywords in the URL. Then the Title – category – post title – post heading – post content – heading 2 – ect…… If you leave out one of these elements like your category, or do not have the hierarchy correct, your readers and even the search engines will get lost!

Search engines are set up mainly for marketing so they make money, and probably always will be… Who doesn’t want to make a profit? They are making it harder for marketers to "fool" them by putting up "keyword pages" or "fixed meta tags" and moving more toward the content itself. This will force the people putting up blatant adds and non readable content to actually start posting real information relevant to the rest of their website or blog.

If you have a blog that is set up correctly, and you keep adding content regularly. You may beat out some crazy rich internet marketers!
